question

Know, Need, Do

What do you think you KNOW and NEED TO KNOW about coexisting with wolves?

What could you DO to help people and wolves coexist with minimal conflict?

Watch the “Trouble with Wolves” trailer again. This time notice examples of conflicts and coexisting.  Then brainstorm answers to the Know, Need, Do questions below. Answering these questions will guide your Quest.

Questions to Consider

You might need to watch the trailer several times to answer these questions.

  1. Why is the documentary called “The Trouble with Wolves?”
  2. Add information from the trailer into a table with sections labelled
    • Voices and views included
    • Voices and views missing
    • Examples of conflict
    • Examples of coexisting and reducing conflict

Brainstorm your responses to the questions below. Write them as lists in your journal or a group document or poster. You'll want to revisit these lists throughout the Quest.

What do you think you KNOW about:

  • Wolf facts and myths
  • Conflicts between people and wolves
  • Views different people have about wolves and coexisting
  • Ways and reasons to coexist with wolves

What do you NEED TO KNOW so you can understand and help.

Start your questions with Who, What, When, Where, How, Why, and Which.

  • Wolf facts and myths
  • Conflicts between people and wolves
  • Views different people have about wolves and coexisting
  • Ways and reasons to coexist with wolves

What could you DO to help family, friends, and the public reduce conflict so they could peacefully share land and resources with wolves?

Questions to Consider

  1. Think about your personal experiences and knowledge about wolves, including what you learned so far in the Quest.
  2.  Work individually, and then in small groups, to braindump your responses. Then create and organize class lists of responses to help guide you on this Quest. You can edit and add to these KND lists during the Quest.
