Lawn Conversion
Lawns are a common part of many people’s backyards, but as they are used and taken care of today, they do almost nothing for the soil. Lawns do not provide us with food or sequester carbon efficiently, but it still takes huge amounts of water, fertilizer, and mowing to keep them green. To rebuild soil and stop using fertilizer in your backyard, use the resources provided to convert your lawn to a garden (full of native plants, perennials, pollinator plants, and food). Then, convince your neighbors and friends to do the same!
