People have always used the water for fun and relaxation.  You can imagine, even thousands of years ago, children playing in the shallows of a river or lake with splashing and laughing.  Today, we have many types of water recreation from swimming and boating, to fishing, diving, and sightseeing.  Are there other types of aquatic recreation you can think of?

  • Where are there water-related recreation opportunities in the watershed?  
  • How are local communities supported or damaged by these recreation opportunities?
  • Are there areas where one should not use the water for some forms of recreation, like swimming? Where and why?
  • How has the watershed been changed to create or support recreational activities?
