Creating Change

The United Nations have recognized food as a universal human right, since the adoption of the Universal Declarations of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted in 1948. Unfortunately, this does not mean that everyone has access to the nutrition they need. The Green Heart STEM Challenge is asking YOU to join the groups of change makers around the world working for EARTH justice. In this challenge, you will be asked to identify an EARTH justice concern or issue in your community, and to develop a feasible solution to overcome that problem. But it doesn't stop there -- the only way to ensure EARTH justice is to put your solution into action. Are you ready?

Strategies for Change

This challenge is about developing a feasible solution to overcome the EARTH challenge you identified. But what does a feasible solution look like? There are four categories of solutions we typically talk about.

Innovation

Can we invent better tools, systems, processes to ensure everyone has access to clean and healthy water?

Science & Data

graph

Can we develop and communicate the science and data behind water issues better and more quickly?

Public Policy

Can we encourage lawmakers to pass and enforce laws, and ensure funding to make sure everyone has access to clean water?

Advocacy

Can we make more people aware of the issue we identified, and encourage them to also advocate for positive change?

Why Is EARTH So Important Anyway?
