2025 Green Heart STEM Challenge - WIND

The Green Heart STEM Challenge is a youth-facing challenge focused on identifying and designing feasible solutions to address environmental justice challenges in our communities. The Challenge is open to middle school age students* and should be completed by TEAMS of 2-5 students under the guidance of an adult advisor. This year's Green Heart STEM Challenge is focused on the Planeteer Element of WIND, with an emphasis on reducing waste in our communities.

Adult advisors should register their student before the Challenge opens on Monday, January 13.

Submissions are due March 14, 2025. 

Registration is free of charge.

The Challenge dashboard provides more information and details about the Challenge, including timeline, judging rubric, etc.

RETURNING Educator Registration

Welcome Back! If you are an educator who participated in the 2024 Green Heart STEM Challenge (or other Project Hero Quests) and already have an account, please follow these steps to register for the 2025 Green Heart STEM Challenge:

  1. LOGIN to your account using the login in the header of this page.
  2. Once logged in, look for the Green Heart Challenge - RETURNING Educator Registration link (in the purple box). Click on it to open the RETURNING registration form.
  3. Complete and submit the form with information about your students participating in the Challenge this year.
  4. Once that form has been submitted, click the green button that reads Add the 2025 Green Heart STEM Challenge 
  5. This will take you to the ADD QUEST option in your account. Select Green Heart STEM Challenge - WIND from the dropdown menu and assign it a name.
  6. Click SUBMIT and the system will add the Challenge to your dashboard.
